Hollywood Fancy Feather Co, started in 1944, in downtown Los Angeles. It started with an idea to take chicken feathers, dye them, and turn them into boutonnieres. In 1945, Elliot Handler and his wife, Ruth, co-founders of Mattel, inc., the toy giant, were starting to make toys in their garage. Handler came to our company to get feathers for a music-box clown. We were the first to give him credit. As time went on, our company started doing business with the Ice Follies and the former Dunes Hotel in Las Vegas. We then started doing the show Hallelujah Hollywood at the original MGM Hotel, the Casino de Paris at the Dunes, Lido at the Stardust, and the Follies Bergere at the Tropicana. Some of our famous celebrities in the past have included Marilyn Monroe, Zsa Zsa Gabor, Jane Russell, Betty Grable, Debbie Reynolds, Susan Hayward, and Mitizi Gaynor.
